A conservatory designer and builder on Maryland’s Eastern Shore asked Sawmill to craft a publicity plan to spread the word about the amazing glass structures it was creating for celebrities, sports figures and corporate executives nationwide. Using the firm’s beautiful color photography, Sawmill brought to life the story of these custom designed conservatories that are built by a team of highly skilled craftsmen, many of whose kin built wood ships and oystering boats for use on the Chesapeake Bay. Editors were reached in a variety of ways, including an e-mailed media tip sheet called ConservaStories. In the first six months, coverage has ranged from local business press such as the Chesapeake Business Ledger and the cover of The Baltimore Sun Sunday Real Estate Section, to Chesapeake Life magazine, Design/Build Business aThis Old House and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine.
